Scientific Timer
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Scientific Timer does not collect any data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
No account, no tracking
Scientific Timer has no sign in and no account. It contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party software development kits, and it does not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell or share personal information.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following on your device only, so that it works:
- The protocols and timer-tasks you create or import, and the built-in protocols you select.
- The state of your timers, such as which ones are running and how much time has elapsed.
- The name you may enter in Settings, which is used as the author of the protocols and timer-tasks you create. It is optional.
This information never leaves your device through Scientific Timer. It may be included in your device or iCloud backups, which are managed by Apple under your own settings.
Notifications
When a timer-task finishes, the app shows a notification that includes its name. These notifications are scheduled and delivered on your device; they do not pass through any server of ours.
Exporting and importing your library
You can export your library to a file, and import a library from a file. Files are only created when you choose to export, and they are saved where you choose to save them. Where you store or send them is up to you.
Contacting us
If you send us feedback by email, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can change this at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.
Earlier versions with sign in
Earlier versions of Scientific Timer offered an optional sign in with Apple or Google. If you signed in, your name, email address, profile photo link and an account identifier were stored with Google Firebase. Sign in has been removed, and this information is no longer collected or used. The records created by earlier versions will be permanently deleted after the version without sign in is released. To have yours deleted sooner, email us at the address below.
You can also remove Scientific Timer's access to your account yourself:
- Apple: Settings, [your name], Sign in with Apple.
- Google: in your Google Account, under Security, Third-party apps & services.
Children
Scientific Timer is not directed at children, and it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
